I like to think about how lucky I am to be able to share and experience people’s joy when I take photos. I love all the emotions that play into my sessions–families, seniors, engagements, and of course, weddings. Sometimes, however, even with the happiest of times, there are those around us who need our love and attention uninterrupted. My love, Marko, lost his mother on September 14th, and I had to make sure I was able to give him all the support I could.
There was a brief moment of panic because I was scheduled to photograph a wedding on September 16th, and didn’t know if I could make it back to Missoula. I was also worried I would not be able to find someone to take over on such short notice. I absolutely hate to cancel, especially so close to such a big day. Its literally the BIGGEST FEAR all photographers have! I’ve never, ever had to cancel on any bride. But, this was a totally unforeseen circumstance, and I prayed and hoped that my clients would be understanding. The INCREDIBLE photographer community in Missoula came to my rescue. When I texted my good friends Brian Powers, Stella Kelsie, and Ashley Caitlin, they all started reaching out immediately to every professional they knew that could take on my wedding and represent me to the best of their ability. Jacob Hixson came to my rescue!!! A HUGE SHOUT OUT TO THIS GUY!!! Not only did he do an amazing job, but he also allowed me to be with Marko during our time of grieving. It was an effortless transition before the wedding and I owe him everything.
I’d also like to extend a thank you to Bethany and Allen for being so understanding. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!
